This setback kept him out of India's current ODI series against Afghanistan, but the selectors are optimistic about his recovery as they look ahead to the England series.
Kohli is stepping into this comeback phase after another impressive IPL season, where he racked up 675 runs in 16 matches and played a pivotal role in leading the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their first IPL title. After the Afghanistan series, India will head to the UK, where they'll face England in five T20Is from July 1 to July 11, followed by a three-match ODI series from July 14 to July 19.
