Virat Kohli has added a new tattoo to his left hand recently. The former India captain was spotted at Aliens Tattoo in Mumbai sitting in the chair as artists worked on his left arm. Photos circulating on Instagram show the 37-year-old smiling and chatting with the tattooist, black gloves on the artist’s hands as the needle traces fresh lines over existing work. Studio founder Sunny Bhanushali and his team refined an older tattoo and have added a new version. Previously, Kohli had visited the same studio in March ahead of the IPL and made a design which had gone viral. Kohli has kept the meanings of those tattoos private and not explained any particular reason.
The latest images of Virat Kohli were shared by cricket accounts and the studio itself and quickly went viral on social media. Within hours there were plenty of likes and comments with fans praising the details of the tattoo and trying to decode what it was about. The former Indian captain is one of the most popular sportspersons in India and once again his latest photos have created a huge buzz on social media. He also has one of the best collections of tattoo work on his arm and the latest one is just an addition to an already excellent collection.
Virat Kohli set to be back in action against West Indies on September 27
Having retired from Test and T20Is, Virat Kohli last played for India in an ODI on 19 July at Lord’s. He made 74 off 60 balls in a high-scoring chase that India fell short as England took the series 2-1. Across the three matches he scored 144 runs at an average of 48. After getting a duck in the first match he scored half-centuries in Cardiff and London. He has made it clear that his aim is to play in the 2027 World Cup in South Africa. His next match for India will come on 27 September when India will host West Indies for three ODIs with the opening match in Thiruvananthapuram followed by matches in Guwahati on 30 September and Mullanpur on 3 October.
After that he will be featuring in the tour of New Zealand and home series against Sri Lanka. Virat has been in stunning form in this format over the last few years. In the previous home series against New Zealand and South Africa, Kohli scored plenty of runs at a strike rate well above 100. He has scored 651 runs in 2025 and 384 this year in the ODI format. He missed the Afghanistan ODI series due to hamstring niggle after the IPL final but was fit again for the England series. He is a crucial player in this format for India and they will hope he can keep up his form leading up to the upcoming World Cup.
