The Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener Virat Kohli has scored a brilliant half-century in their run chase against the Kolkata Knight Riders. He has been celebrating every little moment of victory in this innings including his first run and a successful wide review. This would be his real moment of celebration as he has reached yet another 50 in this season. He has been in fine touch in this innings as he has met almost every delivery with the middle of his bat. Virat will be hoping to stick around till the end of the chase and help RCB get across the line.
This will do Virat Kohli’s confidence a world of good as he came off two consecutive ducks in his last two outings. This has been a timely knock for the stalwart as RCB could go to the top of the table with a victory against KKR. It has come at a very important stage of the tournament as well as Virat would love to be in his best form at the business end of the tournament. RCB will have a lot more stability in their batting unit if Virat is able to give the much needed runs at the top of the order.

RCB maintain control of the chase with solid contributions from Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal
RCB got off to a solid start in the run chase with some fine batting by Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal. This isn’t the usual kind of tracks in the IPL where such totals are chased down within the 16th or 17th over, rather it is a much more happening wicket. The dismissal of Jacob Bethell was due to an outrageous bouncer by Karttik Tyagi. The Englishman was completely beaten by pace and due to the impact of the hit, his 24-karat gold chain fell off his neck. However, the scoreboard hasn’t stopped ticking as the run rate has been constantly maintained uptill now.
The dismissal of Devdutt Padikkal might have come a bit too late for KKR as RCB are cruising towards the total.
With Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar at the crease, RCB will be confident on chasing down the total. They don’t need to necessarily worry about the run rate as they are much ahead of most of the teams in the points table. All RCB will be hoping for at the moment will be the two points so that they can make sure that they don’t fall from the top 2 spot. With the “Chase Master”, Virat Kohli and skipper Rajat Patidar at the crease, RCB will be confident in getting across the line.
