In the world of melodious Jazz music there’s been none more significant or wonderful to hear than a certain Miles Davis. What a legendary jazz singer and composer. And of that there can’t be much doubt. But from times to come, in the world of County Cricket, there’ll always be a certain Myles Davis, a young English fast bowling talent currently active on the Club Cricket scene whose name will be taken with a lot of respect and affinity given what he has achieved very recently; something that is trending everywhere the moment you type the word cricket and jump into what’s happening in the sport at the moment. One Miles with an I and the other with a Y.

So the big question at rhe moment is this

What in the world has Myles Davis done that he is trending and that too, at a time where the world famous Indian Premier League, the eminent T20 franchise based league is going all strong and commanding pretty much the world’s attention?

Well, let’s jump into the fact straight up! Myles Davis did the unthinkable by claiming 6 wickets in 6 deliveries for his blossoming Penkridge Cricket Club South Staffordshire County League Premier Division clash that was held against Pelsall Cricket Club on this last Saturday.

But if you were to break down the statistical feat and the sheer tenacity involved in the amazing bowling feat, you’d realise something that is rather special and perhaps why Davis is being talked about at the moment.

To put it straightforwardly, Myles Davis has taken what you’d call a double hat trick. That’s taking six wickets in as many deliveries. It was thanks to his great achievement that his club side were able to seal a huge 116- run victory.

If that is not special, then what is?

Moreover, it wasn’t that Penske side’s opponents always seemed to struggle. A popular Indian daily reported that, “After Penkridge were bowled out for 168, Pelsall appeared steady at 49-2 before Davis unleashed a spell that stunned players and spectators alike.’

It ought to be noted that Myles Davis had actually already taken a wicket earlier in the innings. But then Myles Davis began the ninth over with what was a wide. And soon after began the magic! He would soon dramatically changing the course of the match with his exceptional medium fast howling.

Respect where it’s due

Cricket may still largely be becoming a batter’s game as we have come to see particularly with the inception of T20 game. But the heart of its success lie the bowlers- skilled mavericks and wily customers who break into decisive spells at the end of the day. And so too did a certain Myles Davis.
