India defeated the USA in their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 by 29 runs at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Suryakumar Yadav won the Player of the Match award for his outstanding inning of 84 unbeaten runs off 49 balls, including 4 sixes and 10 fours.
