At the start of the video, Gautam Gambhir started the speech by appreciating and giving confidence to Rinku Singh for his resilience. Rinku Singh joined the Indian squad ahead of the West Indies game despite losing his dad just a few days back. Gautam Gambhir said ‘’Rinku,it takes a lot of character to come and join the team. Remember one thing, you are not alone, the whole team is standing next to you during this hour so stay strong’’. It was a message that reassured that the team acknowledges his sacrifice.
Gambhir made it clear that there will be pressure and he asked the team not to hide away from it and instead embrace pressure. He also focused on taking the positive route in case they come under pressure. He repeated the word ‘’positive approach’’ multiple times in the speech. It was a short speech that was straight to the point. He also urged the players to enjoy playing the game and reminded them that this is what they have played all their life and asked them to be excited and not feel the pressure.
Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav ended the speech by saying ‘’good energy’’. It was evident that the motivation worked as India looked really calm under such a high pressure game especially in the run chase as India beat West Indies in the final Super 8 match and will now face England in the Semi-Final at Wankhede Stadium.
