Harry Brook scored a sensational century as England posted 357/3 in the first innings of the third ODI against Sri Lanka. Harry Brook, the English captain scored his highest ever One Day score as he remained unbeaten on 136 of just 66 balls. His innings included eleven fours and nine sixes. He ended the innings unbeaten with a strike rate of more than 200. This was the third century in ODIs for Brook and he was absolutely terrific. He completed his century of just 57 balls and brought up his century with a boundary in the 49th over to Vandersay. Watch his celebration here.

The series between Sri Lanka and England is level at 1-1 and this is the series decider. England lost their openers cheaply but Jacob Bethell and Joe Root were involved in a massive partnership of 126 to help England consolidate and get into a strong position. Jacob Bethell got out soon after his half century and Harry Brook came into the crease to join Root and he started off with a boundary in his first ball.

Harry Brook walked in when the team was 166/3 and was involved in the partnership with Root. Harry Brook completed his half-century in just 40 balls and Joe Root went along to score his 20th ODI century. It was a master class from the English Number 3 batter. Harry Brook took the bowlers to the cleaners in the final overs.

The final flourish was a brutal one from the English batters and Brook in particular as they scored 58 runs in the last three overs of the innings. England were 256/3 at the end of the 44th over when Brook had just completed his half century. Then began the onslaught as they scored 101 runs in the final six overs. The penultimate over by Vandersay went for 22 runs as Harry Brook also completed his century and the final over from Asitha Fernando went for 18. The Sri Lankan bowlers had a night to forget as they could only pick up three wickets.

The final flourish from Brook at the end of the innings helped propel the total to 357/5 at the end of the first innings. Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 136 runs of 66 balls while Joe Root also stayed till the end with 111 of 108 balls. It is a very good total on the board and England will fancy their chances of winning the match and the series.
