After getting the toss in their favour, India opted to bat first against the Netherlands in their final group stage fixture at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India’s prolific duo of Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma walked out to bat first with the hope to get their side to a flying start. But Abhishek Sharma’s dip in form continued as he walked out for a duck for the third consecutive game at the World Cup.

The Dutch bowlers started off really well and took the Indian top order by surprise with Aryan Dutt leading the attack flawlessly. Ishan Kishan tried to shift the momentum back towards India, couldn’t last long on the pitch and was clean bowled by Dutt in the fifth over. The pacer who has his roots in Punjab sent both the Indian openers back to the dugout and pushed India on the back foot.

Ishan Kishan went out for a soft dismissal as Aryan Dutt and the Netherlands got lucky enough to see the dynamic opener walk back towards the pavilion.

Watch how Ishan Kishan was sent back:

Dutt bowled it toward the leg side, but Ishan Kishan failed to judge his delivery and the ball ended up hitting his thigh pad and then touched his elbow and fell onto the stumps and bails were dismantled. Kishan tried to save his day, but couldn’t react in time to save his wicket. Ishan couldn't believe what happened there as his shift came to end in the most unluckiest of ways.

It was a huge wicket for the Netherlands considering the kind of form Ishan Kishan has shown at the World Cup. India’s pocket rocket has unleashed two half-centuries in three games and has displayed top notch cricket. His aggressive approach has come in very handy for the men in blue at crucial junctures of the game.
