Ishan Kishan made his comeback in style after failing in the first T20I. In the second T20I against New Zealand in Raipur, India were chasing a target of 209 and Ishan Kishan needed just 21 balls to complete his half-century. The fifty by Ishan in just 21 balls helped him break Abhishek Sharma’s record of the fastest half-century for India in a T20I match against New Zealand which happened in the first T20I.

Ishan Kishan completed his half-century by smashing Matt Henry for a four on the fourth ball of the sixth over of the Indian innings. He smashed 9 fours and 2 sixes en route to his fifty. Watch his celebration here.

Ishan Kishan walked in at 6/1 and it was a brutal onslaught as he smashed 76 runs of just 32 balls which included eleven fours and four sixes. In the first T20I, Abhishek needed 22 balls to reach the 50-run mark against New Zealand and Ishan Kishan broke that record during his knock today.

He took the game on in power play of India’s run chase, Ishan Kishan was batting on 56 runs from 23 balls. The score of 56 runs by Ishan at the end of powerplay was the second highest score by an Indian batter in Powerplay after Abhishek Sharma’s 58 against England at the Wankhede Stadium. It was a terrific knock and helped India cruise through the chase.
