Indian wicket-keeper batter and World Cup winner Ishan Kishan has slammed the media when asked about a social media post made by a former Indian cricketer Kirti Azad following India’s T20 World Cup win. Ishan Kishan who smashed a stunning half-century and also took plenty of catches in the Final asked the journalist to come up with better questions. This video has gone viral on social media with fans impressed with Ishan Kishan’s response. Watch the video here.

When asked about the tweet put out by Kirti Azad, Ishan Kishan replied with “kuch acha sawal kijiye na,” translating to ask me some better questions. As seen in the video Kishan said “I have just won such a wonderful World Cup - please ask better questions. What can I say about what Kirti Azad said? Please ask some good questions. Tell me how it feels and how much fun it was,” added Ishan Kishan.
Kirti Azad had put out a tweet slamming Suryakumar Yadav and co for visiting a temple after winning the T20 World Cup. Part of his tweet read ‘’Why The Hell Is The Indian Cricket Trophy is being Dragged. Why NOT a Mosque? Why NOT a Church? Why NOT a Gurudwara?’’. His tweet also read ‘’This Team Represents INDIA — not Suryakumar Yadav's or Jay Shah's Family’’. Read his full tweet here.
Ishan Kishan was then asked by a different journalist about his future plans in cricket for which the left-hander said ‘’Will keep scoring runs and keep winning matches, that is the plan’’ before walking away. India beat New Zealand by 96 runs in the Final of the T20 World Cup 2026 with Sanju Samson being the star of the show and winning the player of the tournament award.

A day after the win, Suryakumar Yadav along with Gambhir and Jay Shah were spotted in a temple with the trophy after which former cricketer and current politician Kirti Azad put out that tweet. Many former cricketers have slammed the remark made by Kirti Azad including Harbhajan Singh.
