The young RR prodigy once again told the world why he is different from others as he scored a 15 ball 50 against the bowling talent of CSK. CSK faced RR in their first 2026 IPL match yesterday where the entire team was bowled out for just 127 runs in the first innings. Jamie Overton was the highest run scorer for the team as he scored 36 ball 43 to make a defendable target for his team.
Sooryavanshi who proved his capabilities last year itself, opened the innings for the Royals with Yashaswi Jaiswal where he scored the second fastest fifty in the RR history and joint third fastest fifty in IPL’s history.
Following the match, a clip was posted by the RR social media handle where the RR Coach, Rommi Bhinder was seen telling Sooryavanshi that he wanted him to hit a 22 ball 67 score. He told Sooryavanshi that he had written it down and told it only to Rajamani (the RR support staff). Later the coach was seen congratulating the young player for his fierce innings.

RR defeats CSK in their 2026 IPL match
RR defeated CSK last night while chasing 127 in twenty overs. The team chased it down in only 13 overs, moving their run rate up to a positive of 4 in the points table. Meanwhile, CSK has to do a lot of pondering over what went wrong for them last night and how they will go into the next game.
