The incident occurred in the 39th over of Pakistan’s innings when Mehidy Hasan Miraz was bowling. After a delivery was defended by Mohammad Rizwan, the ball slowly rolled towards the non-striker’s end where Salman Ali Agha was standing.
Believing the ball to be dead, Agha stepped out of his crease and appeared to move towards the ball to return it to the bowler. However, Miraz quickly sprinted forward, collected the ball and threw it onto the stumps at the non-striker’s end.
Since Agha had stepped outside his crease, the appeal was referred to the third umpire. After reviewing the replays, the umpire ruled him out, confirming the run-out and ending Agha’s impressive innings.
