Well, for starters, there’s never a dull day when the cricketing news surrounds (or concerns ) Pakistan Cricket or better yet, the immediate Pakistan squad playing any particular tournament, irrespective of where it may be. So, without any further ado let us get into this. It turns out that there’s a strange piece of news surrounding Shadab Khan, a key member of the Pakistan team playing the ongoing T20 World Cup and what he has said.

Well, believe it or not, but one of the most noted talents in the present day Pakistan team has said a rather bold, if also confident statement, sharing in no uncertain terms the fact that’s got many talking

“We will play the final!”

In saying so, Shadab Khan has mentioned his bold claim with respect to the current ICC T20 World Cup, which is co hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

This tall claim, honest however in its shape, has come right at the back of Pakistan’s big loss to India the other day at Colombo.

The recently concluded February 16 game that was to have been a clash among two formidable Cricketing forces from the beating heart of the Indian subcontinent eventually became a one sided game. That’s because Shadab Khan, the all rounder’s team ended up capitulating in front of India’s daunting performance, losing the contest by 61 runs.

This isn’t just a loss; it was a huge one in the context of the briefest format of the sport where every single run counts and the margins of error are less and the margins of defeats often paint a hugely disappointing figure for the vanquished.

But on his part, Shadab Khan’s confidence seems to know no bounds.

The noted all rounder known for his spin talent feels that Pakistan still have what it takes in them to reach not just the business end of the tournament but in fact, its decisive stage- the very final.

However, whether such a thing would actually happen isn’t known. Pakistan are yet to further qualify to the Super 8 stage. In front of them stands the immediate urgent challenge of having to beat Namibia.

Can that happen? Sure. Can Pakistan play the final of this World Cup? Who else, but Shadab Khan knows.
