After an amazing start, India easily crossed the 200-run mark and looked set for 260+. However, three wickets fell in the over bowled by James Neesham, and after that, the scoring slowed down. Hardik and Tilak were unable to connect, and India lost Hardik in the 19th over.

Now Shivam Dube was on strike in the last over, facing James Neesham. The team had 231 when Shivam faced the first ball and smashed it for four over mid-off. The big man struck six on the second ball over the deep midwicket. After putting so much pressure on the bowler, Neesham bowled the next ball at full length, and the left-hander sent it for a six and smashed the next ball down to the boundary as well. Dube denied a single on the 5th ball and finished the inning with a four on the last ball from the extra cover fielders.

 

 

Thanks to his innings, Team India put up a massive total of 255 in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Dube scored an unbeaten 26 runs off 8 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes.

He smashed two crucial boundaries against the West Indies in the virtual knockout match against the West Indies, scored 43 runs off 25 in the semifinal against England, and smashed 26 runs off 8 balls in the final.

 

 

Additionally, Shivam Dube was the unsung hero of India's 2024 T20 World Cup victory. In that final, Shivam smashed a crucial 27 runs off 16 balls that helped India to score 176 runs against South Africa.
