Another big day for a big country and amid a peculiarly big occasion! Sunday, March 8, 2026, isn’t just any other day; it’s a hopefully historic day and one marked with grandeur and a huge sense of occasion, particularly speaking, for the mega fan of Indian cricket.

As India prepares its final bid to lift yet another World Cup title in cricket’s briefest format and in so doing, defend its valiant 2024 title (yes, India are the defending champions), countless fans from around the world have already begun praying and as a matter of fact, prayers have reached the courtyards and confines of some of India’s most famous temples and spiritual destinations.

As the T20 World Cup final approaches, prayers and hopes for Team India are pouring in from across the country — and the holy city of Ujjain has become one of the spiritual centers of support.

At the famous Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, devotees and cricket fans gathered to offer special prayers for Team India ahead of the title clash.

Priests performed rituals and special pujas, praying for the success of the Indian team as they prepare for the biggest match of the tournament.

Ujjain, one of India’s most sacred cities, is known for its deep spiritual traditions.

On the day of the final, many devotees combined their regular temple visits with prayers dedicated specifically to India’s victory.

Fans carried Indian flags, chanted slogans, and sought blessings from Lord Mahakal, hoping the divine support would guide the team to another historic triumph.

Scenes outside the temple reflected the nationwide excitement.
