This incident happened in the eleventh over of Sydney Sixers chase. Babar Azam and Steve Smith had already made a partnership of over 100 runs and were cruising towards the target. But in the last ball of the over, Babar Azam knocked down the ball to long on for a single but Steve Smith declined the call and sent him back. This left Babar Azam furious and Steve Smith wanted to keep strike in the next over as it was going to be the power surge so he denied the single and this incident left Babar Azam furious. Later Smith smashed 32 runs in a single over of the power surge which included four sixes. The following over, Babar Azam got dismissed as he was bowled and on his way back he was seen smashing the boundary cushions in anger while walking back to the pavillion after his dismissal in the Big Bash League clash between Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder. Babar Azam was dismissed soon after he was denied a single by his opening partner Steve Smith.

There are also reports coming in that once the game was finished, Babar Azam did not even come out to congratulate the team and perform the handshakes post match. So it remains to be seen what action does the BBL take towards him for this behaviour. Here is a video of the sequence of events.

Sydney Sixers won the match quite comfortably as Steve Smith smashed 100 runs of 42 balls and the team cruised towards the total. Earlier in the game, David Warner smashed a century for Sydney Thunder and it was a great day for the fans who got to see their star perform.
