India started their U-19 Asia Cup 2025 campaign in fine dashing posting more than 400 while batting first against UAE U19. Thanks to a brilliant century from young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. The left hander brought up his century with a single down to long on. It was not a big celebration from him as he just lifted his bat and thanked the heavens. Fans were treated to some spectacular batting.

In just 55 balls, the left-hander scored one of the fastest hundreds in the tournament’s history. He continued his amazing form as he smashed a brilliant 171. The 14-year-old left-hander played a fearless innings and reached his hundred in just 56 balls, giving India a powerful start after the UAE chose to bowl first. He got off the mark with a boundary on his sixth ball and then attacked every bowler. He brought up his fifty off 30 balls and kept going strong. The Rajasthan Royals batter survived a chance on 85 when he was dropped at long-off. After that, he completed his second Youth ODI hundred of the year.
Suryavanshi’s runs placed him behind Ambati Rayudu’s unbeaten 177 against England U19 in 2002, moving him up from his previous position of tenth highest scorer. During this innings there was a bit of banter and sledging going on as well. It was the 32nd over of the innings and left-arm spinner Uddish Suri was bowling and Saleh Amin, wicketkeeper, kept chirping from behind, “Come on boys. 90’s curse. 90’s curse.” Vaibhav Suryavanshi got a bit agitated by the sledging and said, “Tere saath selfie loon?”
India finish on 433/6 in the first innings and have set UAE - U19 with a massive uphill task. India Under 19 will take on Paksitan U19 in the U19 Asia Cup on Sunday.
