Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Virat Kohli missed a crucial catch of Delhi Capitals’ KL Rahul. Both sides came against each during the day clash of April 18’s double-header at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The game saw the hosts record their second defeat of the season, and fall to the Capitals by six wickets in a last-over thriller. However, that could have been avoided hadn’t the RCB batter missed out on a crucial catch of Rahul.
On the first ball of the third over, Rahul had almost gotten out on nine runs as Virat Kohli seemingly picked his catch. However, the star batter only managed to get his finger tips on the ball and the ball slid towards deep backward point. Rahul ended up hitting crucial 57 off 34 balls, which went on to make a significant impact on the visitors’ innings and helped them chase 176 in the hot and humid city of Bengaluru.

KL Rahul opens up on Delhi’s rebound win after two losses
Rahul, who was the acting captain for DC as skipper Axar Patel got retired hurt, spoke about the win. He said, “I could see Virat and Phil Salt not happy with the way the ball was coming on. And yeah, and us losing three wickets in the first six doesn't make it easy for us. So yeah, it was, I think all in all a really good cricket game.”
“We just wanted to stay in the moment, take it one over at a time and try and put pressure on the bowlers. And yeah, he hit some good shots. I hit some good shots. (nervous at the end?) No, there was faith in Stubbs and Miller. They do this on a daily for South Africa and franchise cricket. So, we also knew that the last over was going to be a gamble for RCB as well. And we knew that probably Romario Shepherd will bowl or maybe Suyash will bowl, which gives our batters a good chance to hit two sixes in the last over. So yeah, ideally we wouldn't have wanted it to go till the 20th over, but we'll take the win."
DC will now lock horns with SRH on Tuesday, April 21.
