Virat Kohli continued his dominance in the One Day Format and scored his 54th century. In the third match of the ODI series against New Zealand at Indore, Virat Kohli scored his 100 runs of 91 balls which included eight fours and two sixes. The crowd were treated to a masterclass. Virat Kohli hit the ball towards mid wicket off Zak Foulkes in the 40th over to reach the milestone. This was the 54th ODI century for Virat Kohli had he got there and the celebrations were not big as he did not remove his helmet and just lifted his bat to acknowledge the crowd as he knew there was still a big job left for him to win the game for India. This has been a terrific series for Virat Kohli as he scored his 93 runs of 91 balls which included eight fours and a six. India batting stalwart Virat Kohli also became the fastest player to reach 28,000 runs across formats in international cricket and the second most prolific scorer behind Sachin Tendulkar during the first ODI against New Zealand here. Virat Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest player to reach 28,000 international runs. He got there in 624th innings – 20 less than that of Tendulkar.  

Chasing a target of 337, India were in huge trouble but they are still in the game mainly due to a terrific knock by Virat Kohli. He is playing a lone warrior knock as fans were treated to some spectacular batting from the legend. He also loves playing against New Zealand as this was his 10th century against them across formats. This was also his seventh ODI century against New Zealand which is the most by any batter.

Virat Kohli is currently ranked Number 1 batter in the ODI format and has been in stellar form. He scored a couple of centuries against South Africa in the last series and another century to with a 93 in this series. Kohli and Harshit Rana are keeping India in the game and we are in for a thrilling finish.
