In a surprising development that has generated widespread discussion on social media, music composer Palash Muchhalhas released an emotional public statement after reports emerged that his wedding with Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana has been called off. Though he did not mention any names directly, his message appears to address the ongoing rumours surrounding his personal life.

Palash shared the statement through an Instagram Story, expressing how difficult the situation has been for him and requesting privacy and sensitivity. He stated that he has “decided to move on” and step back from his personal relationship after facing intense public speculation.

“It’s been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me. It’s the most difficult phase of my life and I will deal with it gracefully holding on to my beliefs.” — Palash Muchhal’s statement

The composer strongly appealed to society to pause before judging anyone based on unverified gossip, highlighting the emotional damage such speculation can cause.

“I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.”

Palash further revealed that his team will pursue legal action against individuals spreading false and defamatory claims online.

“My team will be taking strict legal action against those spreading false and defamatory content.”

He ended the note by thanking those who supported him through this difficult period, adding:

“Thank you to everyone who has stood by me with kindness in this tough time.”

While neither party has officially confirmed the reason behind the separation, fans of both Palash and Smriti have responded with messages of concern and empathy across social media. Many have urged respect for privacy, recognising that public figures also deserve space during personal hardships.

As of now, Smriti Mandhana has not issued any public statement on the matter.
