
Ashok Sharma is a 23-year-old uncapped fast bowler from Rajasthan who is currently making waves in IPL 2026 as a breakout star for the Gujarat Titans (GT). In the Titans’ first home fixture of the season against Rajasthan Royals, Sharma bowled the fastest delivery of the season at 152.4 kmph. Sharma is primarily known for his exceptional raw pace, reaching speeds of up to 155 kmph.
Born in Rampur a village near Jaipur, Rajasthan, Ashok is a right-arm fast bowler who describes himself as a “hard-length” bowler who relies on bounce and high-speed. He was previously signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (₹55 lakh in 2022) and Rajasthan Royals (₹30 lakh in 2025) but did not feature in a playing XI for either team. He spent years as a net bowler for both RR and KKR before getting his first opportunity with GT.

Ashok Sharma’s domestic career
Sharma plays for the Rajasthan state team in domestic cricket and his standout performance was when he picked up 4 wickets for just 16 runs while bowling against Uttarakhand.
In a tight chase of 146 against Saurashtra, Ashok contributed with the bat, remaining 15 off just 7 balls*. He struck two crucial sixes in the 19th over to secure a two-wicket victory for Rajasthan. 2025-26 SMAT was also his breakout season where he surpassed the long standing record of Lukhan Meriwala of picking up 21 wickets in a single season, by picking up 22 wickets.

In the IPL 2026 season so far, Ashok Sharma has emerged as a breakout star for Gujarat Titans (GT), claiming 2 wickets in 2 matches and setting the record for the fastest ball of the season at 154.2 kmph against Rajasthan Royals. In the first match against PBKS, Sharma picked up 1 wicket while conceding 31 runs in 3 overs. After an expensive start (26 runs in 2 overs), he returned in the 18th over to concede just 5 runs and pick up his maiden IPL wicket of Marco Jansen.
In the match against Rajasthan Royals, the 23-year old player, as of now gave only 24 runs in 3 overs while picking only 1 wicket. He also dismissed the dangerous Shimron Hetmyer (caught by Mohammed Siraj) in the 16th over to break a threatening stand.
