
Talented 19-year-old Rajasthan cricketer Kartik Sharma was sold to CSK for a whopping 14.2 Crore. Born and raised in Rajasthan, he made his debut for Rajasthan’s senior team last year and has since become a regular player across all three formats. Aright-hand batter with impressive wicket-keeping skills, Kartik represents the next generation of Indian cricketers who combine skill with adaptability and aggression.
He announced his arrival at the senior level with a century on debut against Uttarakhand in the 2024/2025 Ranji Trophy season. He also went on to become Rajasthan’s top scorer in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 445 runs in nine matches.
He has also adapted to the shorter version of the game very well. In 12 T20s, Kartik has amassed 334 runs at a strike rate of 164, hitting 28 sixes. Clips of his power-hitting have travelled far and wide in social media where it went viral and got praised from the likes of Kevin Pietersen and R Ashwin. For Rajasthan, his impact has been clinical. Kartik’s late-order firepower has added depth and muscle to their batting, and he has played a key role as they surged into the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy knockouts by winning six of their seven matches. In first five innings, he has scored 133 runs at an average of 26.60 and a strike rate of 160.24, with his best performance being 46 off 31 balls against Karnataka.
Kartik Sharma will play under the guidance of one of thw greatest wicket-keeper of this generation in MS Dhoni. Kartik was with CSK last year and even though he dint play any games, he was a talent that was scouted. Kartik Sharma got plenty of bids from most teams in the IPL Auction and his ability to hit sixes effortlessly makes him special. He can bit in the middle order and also keep wickets if needed and will be donning the Yellow jersey for IPL 2026.
