Fans on X were critical of the poor performance of India against Ireland in the first match of the series that ended up in a disappointing loss. It was the first ever loss for India against Ireland and the fans pinned the blame on a couple of Indian players. Abhishek Sharma’s innings seemed to be the only positive in the run chase for India as rest of the batters failed miserably to make valuable contributions.

Tilak Varma’s slow knock of 19 off just 21 balls created disappointment in the fans as they expected better from him. Moreover, the decision to drop Vaibhav Sooryavanshi wasn’t accepted gleefully by the fans and the disappointment just grew bigger over time.

Another area of massive criticism was the inclusion of Prasidh Krishna in the side. The death bowling from the Gujarat Titans pacer was below average and he conceded way too many runs. India were looking to rectify the errors that they made in the first innings but the performance of the star studded batting was terrible with just a couple of batters reaching double figures.

Not only this, but Ireland were in control of the game in the second innings as well and Matthew Hollard was the star bowler of the side with 3 wickets from his quota of 4 overs. Jai Moondra was also good with the ball as he picked up 2 wickets from the 3 overs that was bowled by him.

The fans haven’t taken the failures of the players lightly and much of the blame has been pinned on Prasidh Krishna for his expensive over. India would be hoping to bounce back in the series as a series loss would be a terrible start to the captaincy career of the newly appointed captain, Shreyas Iyer.
