The Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored a magnificent 110 runs off just 86 balls against Afghanistan in the final game of the ODI series and it has been an absolute treat to watch. This is the second ODI century of his career and Rajasthan Royals batter was in sensational rhythm right from the beginning and he was able to pick the boundary gaps perfectly. Jaiswal scored 14 fours and 3 sixes throughout his innings, while striking at 127.91. This match-winning knock would play a crucial role in making a strong case for himself in the ODI setup as he wasn’t part of the starting squad prior to this series against Afghanistan.
The Indian batting unit was on top of their game as they won the game by 9 wickets as they were chasing down a target of 219. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave India a thumping start to the game and it was good enough to seal the game for the side. The duo scored 170 runs for the 1st wicket and it was a very frustrating period for the Afghanistan bowling unit. India’s performance in this series has been dominant, leaving no room for the visitors to have any control over the hosts in all three games of the series.

India secure commanding 3-0 series win over Afghanistan
Yashasvi Jaiswal was given the opportunity in the second game of the series and he was determined to make the most of it as he was warming the bench early on. Virat Kohli’s absence was the reason for the void in the batting unit and he knew that he had to make a strong case for himself as these opportunities wouldn’t come his way all the time.
The Rajasthan Royals batter scored just 4 runs in his first game of the series and he was vivid with the opportunity that he threw away. Jaiswal took control over the run-chase in the series finale and he scored a fine century to anchor the chase for India. He was looking quite confident right from the word go and it was evident in his shot selection. Jaiswal dominated the game with his stunning knock alongside Rohit Sharma and that took the game away from the Afghanistan side.
India’s bowling was clinical in the first innings of the game as well, bowling out Afghanistan for just 218 within 45 overs. Prasidh Krishna was the standout performer for the side with the ball as he picked up a 5-fer and he ran riot over the Afghanistan batting unit. Prince Yadav made use of his opportunity as he bowled economically well and he picked up a wicket as well. All of India’s bowlers were on song and it never seemed like Afghanistan were getting to a massive total. Overall, India has whitewashed Afghanistan in the ODI series and it is more of a statement from the Men in Blue ahead of the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.
