Yashasvi Jaiswal played a match-winning knock of 110 and during the post-match interview, he stated that he tries to make his opportunities count. The Indian opener was keen on keeping his focus and scoring runs after having some disappointing knocks previously. He was delighted with his innings today and he even claimed that he was lucky when he was asked about converting his starts into hundreds. Jaiswal intended to keep the game simple by just rotating the strike and to allow himself to take some time before he could play some big shots to get into his usual groove while batting.
“Yes, I think I've been lucky, so I'm just trying to convert if I get the start. As I have seen like in sports and in cricket, especially that when it is your day, make it count. So I try to do that. Because a lot of experience I had recently that I was trying, but things were not going in my way. But I was very determined today that I just need to keep my focus in and just keep trying to rotate the strikes. And if I get in, so I'll just make it count,” stated Yashasvi Jaiswal on converting his starts into hundreds.

“I just focus on my process”: Jaiswal on utilizing chances
The Rajasthan Royals star batter clarified his thought process by stating that he keeps his focus on his game and on trying to improve things that are under his control. The opening pair for the Indian side in ODIs have been Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, leaving Yashasvi Jaiswal a spot in the bench. He claimed that the support from the support staff has helped him a lot and that their communication line helps him to stay informed about what exactly is going on. It was evident in Jaiswal’s knock that he was in a great mindspace to utilize the opportunity that came his way.
“I just focus on my process, what is in my control and try to work hard as much as I can. And of course, there is always support from the support staff and they have been amazing to me. The communication is unreal. So I know what's going on. So I'm really enjoying it,” added Yashasvi Jaiswal on how he keeps himself ready for the opportunities that come his way.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was the standout batter for India today, scoring his 2nd ODI century and he secured the victory for India as well. His opening partnership with Rohit Sharma set the tone for the innings and they were present at the crease for majority of the run-chase. The Indian opener was solid in his shot-making and he didn’t look to be struggling at any point in the game. He took his time by just rotating the strike and it worked perfectly fine for him. After getting to his century, Jaiswal finished off the game for India by scoring a six over deep mid-wicket off the bowling of Mohammed Nabi and India secured the win by 9 wickets.
