
Canada opener Yuvraj Samra came out all guns blazing as he smashed a terrific century against New Zealand in Chennai. This was the 30th match of the 2026 WT20 and Canada were batting first and the stylish left handed opener made his maiden T20I century. It was against a quality New Zealand bowling attack and one of the most memorable centuries. This is also the second century of this WT20 after Nissanka scored one last night. Canada put up a 100 run partnership for the opening wicket as Dilpreet Bajwa and Yuvraj Samra set up a big platform.
Yuvraj Samra had smashed nine fours and 6 sixes in this knock and he completed his milestone with a boundary off Kyle Jamieson. He reached his century in just 58 balls and it was a memorable moment for the youngster. Watch his celebration here.

Dilpreet Bajwa struggled to get going as he could score 36 of 39 balls before getting dismissed. But from the other end, Yuvraj Samra started in fine fashion and went at a terrific strike rate. He completed his half century in 36 balls and at 19 years and 141 days he became the youngest batter to score a WT20 fifty. After reaching the milestone he shifted gears quickly as he smashed boundaries for fun. He was brutal particularly against off-spinner Cole McConchie as he smashed consecutive sixes off him. Yuvraj Samra then completed his century as he helped Canada cross 150 runs at the end of 17th over out of which 102 runs belonged to him. Yuvraj Samra also became the youngest batter to score a century in T20 World Cups.
