The former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah, while sharing an incident that took place during a net session, when 16-year-old Jasprit Bumrah was bowling at Yuvraj. Bumrah is regarded as arguably the best bowler of this generation with his searing pace and disciplined lengths. He has troubled batters across the globe with his unorthodox bowling style, and batters often find it difficult to pick the ball out of his hand. When the bowler troubles one of the greats of Indian cricket like Yuvraj Singh, you simply know that Bumrah isn’t an ordinary talent.
‘I want this kid out of the nets’ and ‘stop bowling to me’. I was like, ‘Kid, stop! Whoever you are.’ Because I was just trying to make a comeback from cancer, I was just trying to get into my zone. And this guy was just bowling lethal,” Yuvraj told Vaughan on The Overlap Cricket. One of the greatest stories of Indian cricket is the story of Yuvraj Singh, who fought cancer and made his way back into the team. During his comeback phase, 16-year-old Bumrah used to disturb him with his line and length. Yuvraj found it difficult to pick the bowler as the pace was too quick, and he used to hit that hard length, which would end up hitting his ribs very often.

Bumrah’s pace, precision and deception earn high praise from Yuvraj
Jasprit Bumrah is undoubtedly the finest Indian bowling talent, and he has dominated world cricket over the years. Especially in testing conditions in England and Australia, he delivered match-winning spells for his side. Yuvraj Singh praises the youngster for the kind of bowler he was from his early stages. At 32-years-old, Jasprit Bumrah is also considered to be among the greatest bowlers of all time by the critics due to his ability to outfox batters and deliver toe-crushing yorkers. Yuvraj also stated that Bumrah instils a sense of fear in the batter’s mind when he comes up to the ball, and he has got that clinical precision in landing his deliveries, and seldom do batters know how to cope with all that skillset.
“If you look at the way the game is evolving, he has to be the best because batsmen are not going after him. They’re like scared to go after him; they feel like it’s best to just rotate the strike and hit the other bowlers. And the moment they want to go after him, he doesn’t allow them. He’s just really smart. Obviously, he’s got a great skill as well, and he’s got a deceptive action. It’s hard to pick his slower one out of his hand," Yuvraj Singh added.
The Indian right-arm pacer has led the bowling attack from the front for quite some time now, and captains turn towards him as the bowler who could dismantle the opposition batting unit. Jasprit Bumrah’s unique bowling action confuses batters, and very often, batters like to play out Bumrah and focus on the other bowlers. That is the kind of reputation he has built over the years, as even the world’s best batters struggle against him. Yuvraj claims that Jasprit Bumrah has a deceptive bowling action and that batters struggle to pick the slower one out of his hand. Yuvraj Singh showered the Indian paceman with tons of praise for his success.
