Sikandar Raza will lead the Zimbabwe side for the upcoming WT20. Zimbabwe missed out on qualification to the event in 2024 but they have done really well in the Qualifiers to make it to the 2026 event and they have named a 15 member squad for the main event.
Former Zimbabwe captain Graeme Cremer, who returned to international cricket in October after a seven-year gap, has been named in the Zimbabwe squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup. The 39-year-old leg-spinner had made his comeback during the tri-series in Pakistan, where he picked up 2 wickets across two games.
Brendon Taylor, who also made a comeback this year, has played 13 T20Is since his return, scoring 251 runs will be the wicket-keeper. Another keeping option in Clive Madande has returned to the squad. His domestic form earned him a place in the World Cup squad, providing Zimbabwe with depth in the batting lineup. Madande was the top scorer in Zimbabwe’s domestic T20 tournament, notching 152 runs in four matches.
Right arm pacer Blessing Muzarabani, who had missed the previous tri-series with a back injury, is also back in the squad. Left-arm seamer Newman Nyamhuri is the only one from that squad to miss out.
Zimbabwe are placed in Group B, where they will face Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Oman. The group stage presents a challenging path, with all matches scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe’s campaign will begin against Oman.
