Former India captain Kris Srikanth called Zimbabwe a bigger threat to India than West Indies. On 23 February, West Indies demolished Zimbabwe at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, winning by a big margin of 107 runs. With this victory, West Indies net runrate has climed to +5.350, whereas India's net runrate after defeat against South Africa is -3.800. With the difference being as big as 180 runs between two sides. West Indies team find themselves in a comfortable space while the men-in-blue find themselves in a spot of bother.

With this, the former India captain believes that Zimbabwe will enter into the contest on 26th February with absolute freedom as they have nothing to lose. And with this mindset, Sikandar Raza-led Zimbabwe team becomes a bigger threat to team India than the West Indies, especially when the game is happening in Chennai - where scoring a big total is a worry in itself.

On his YouTube channel, he expressed his emotions and said, "West Indies are one step ahead of India now with the crushing win over Zimbabwe. Everything boils down to the South Africa-West Indies match for India. Yet, playing on the Chennai wicket, Zimbabwe is a bigger threat to India than the West Indies."

He further said that West Indies now have the hopes to make it to the semi finals of the T20 World Cup. He further believes that it will be game over for India if South Africa beats West Indies as they will definitely beat Zimbabwe.

"Because now the West Indies have hopes of qualification whereas Zimbabwe has no hope, so they'll play carefree cricket. It will be game over for India if South Africa beats West Indies. Though South Africa also has to beat Zimbabwe, then,” he concluded.
