Jonathan Gaming, regarded as one of the greatest esports players in India, has changed his 2-finger controls to 3-finger claw for the very first time in 7 years of his legendary career. Notably, his team’s (Godlike Esports) matches will begin soon in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGIS) 2026, and his decision to change his controls is a risky move, as every player needs some time to be comfortable with the new setup.

Jonathan Gaming 3 Finger Controls: All You Need to Know

On the recent live stream, Jonathan confirmed that he has shifted to the 3-finger controls in BGMI. It is to be noted that he has changed his controls for the first time in 7 years. He has been playing PUBG Mobile/BGMI since 2019, and changing the controls in 2026 says everything about how legends like Jonathan also need to change with the game meta.

From the start of his career, Jonathan used only 2 finger controls and fans, and even the esports players copied his controls to be pros like Jonathan.

But currently, the whole game meta has shifted towards the shotguns, and most of the players rely on shotguns in close range rather than AR guns like the AKM and M416. The 2-finger setup has its own limitations. 2-finger players need to compromise some things in the game; this affects their speed. 3 or 4 finger players can play BGMI much faster than 2 finger players. This is why Jonathan has changed his controls. However, he is yet to reveal his new 3-finger controls.

Godlike Esports’s BGIS 2026 Matches to Start on 19 February

Godlike Esports will play their BGIS 2026 matches from 19 February. They have been placed in Round 4 of the tournament that will run from 19 to 22 February. Now it will be interesting to see if Jonathan will be able to be comfortable with his new setup.
