The third match of EURO 2020 has been suspended after Denmark's star midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field during the match against Finland at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on Saturday. The 29-year-old fell on the field and could not get up as the play was officially called off citing a medical emergency. As per the latest updates, Eriksen has been taken for treatment and the status of his health is expected to be revealed very soon.

What actually happened?

It was the 43rd minute of the match when Denmark had been awarded a throw in down the left flank. As the ball was thrown towards Eriksen, the midfielder collapsed on the turf as the ball hit his knee. The players and referee Anthony Taylor immediately called for some medical help. One of the Danish medical team members also performed compressions on the player's chest as the players formed a ring around to ensure complete privacy for the treatment.
