England have announced their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup but it has come under a significant amount of controversy. Thomas Tuchel had taken over the managerial responsibility and he had taken some tough calls early on. He has left out some huge names like Luke Shaw, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Harry Maguire.

The English fans have lashed out at the outrageous decision making but they have also shown trust in the German tactician as he is indeed an experienced manager. Tuchel has shown faith in the form of the players in the Premier League and he has picked some fresh faces. Morgan Rogers, Noni Madueke, Elliot Anderson, Nico O'Reilly and James Trafford are some of the debutants in the World Cup.

Gareth Southgate faced a massive heartbreak in the 2022 FIFA World Cup as they were eliminated by France. Their momentum was building in excellent fashion as they were cruising through their way and none of the teams proved to be a real challenge for the side.

But they ran into an in-form French side, and Aurélien Tchouaméni drew first blood in the encounter. England were given a second penalty in the dying moments of the game for Harry Kane and he hit it over the crossbar. That was probably one of the most disappointing penalty kicks that England had ever taken.

England’s squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, James Trafford

Defenders: Dan Burn, Marc Guehi, Reece James, Ezri Konsa, Tino Livramento, Nico O'Reilly, Jarrell Quansah, Djed Spence, John Stones

Midfielders: Elliot Anderson, Jude Bellingham, Eberechi Eze, Jordan Henderson, Kobbie Mainoo, Declan Rice, Morgan Rogers

Forwards: Harry Kane, Anthony Gordon, Noni Madueke, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney, Ollie Watkins

The English fans will be hoping that “It is coming home” as they definitely do deserve some silverware as they finished as the runners-up in the Euro cup, losing to Spain. The tactical brilliance of Thomas Tuchel cannot be ignored and he will have a huge role to play in the game. This would be a relatively new-faced team for England but this could prove to be good enough for title contention in the gloried stage.
