Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson after his stellar performances for England in the World Cup qualifiers during the recently concluded international break. The 22-year-old won the man of match award during England’s 2-0 win over Andorra in Birmingham, and shortly after, performance was stellar against Serbia in Belgrade where the team managed to secure a 5-0 victory.
As per the report published in Football Insider, there is a definite interest in Elliot Anderson from top Premier League clubs including Manchester United, but as per the Insider Track Podcast, he is happy at Nottingham Forest and plans to not leave them. The newly appointed club manager Ange Postecoglou is understood to have expressed his desire to lose the Englishman recently.
The valuation of Elliot Anderson is expected to touch £70 million very soon: Report
The valuation of Elliot Anderson is expected to touch £70 million, but Nottingham Forest won’t be looking to sell him regardless, at least in the January transfer window. Mick Brown, who was the Manchester United chief scout, spoke to Football Insider on their podcast about the latest development surrounding the English midfielder, stating that his former club are considering the option to sign the player listed high up in their transfer targets.
He was quoted as saying, “It’s another difficult deal, but I’m not surprised Man United have been looking at Anderson. Now that he’s broken into the England squad, his profile is only going to get bigger.” With Manchester United finding it tough under manager Ruben Amorim in the Premier League, not only in terms of results but also getting overloaded by the opponents in the midfield, a player of Elliot Anderson’s profile could solve a lot of things for them.
But before the January transfer window comes into the picture, Manchester United will be looking to get the best out of their current set of players, to be in a decent position in the Premier League come the start of next year.
