Rasmus Hojlund, the 22-year-old center-forward who joined Manchester United from Atalanta has been a key target in the ongoing tranfer window. The Danish international has made a total of 95 appearances for Manchester United and has contributed a total of 26 goals in his two seasons at the club. But the striker is reportedly set to leave the club and start a new chapter in the Serie A.
Several sources suggest that the defending Serie A champions, Napoli are willing to make a move for the 22-year-old striker and have started to establish talks with him. While reports also claim that Manchester United are aware of the same and are willing to see the deal go through following the agreement between Hojlund and Napoli over contract terms. It is to be noted that the striker faces an uncertain future at Manchester United currently after the latest signing of Slovenian forward Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Rasmus Hojlund could be solution for Napoli after Lukaku's injury: Reports
It seems like a move to Napoli would be the most suitable option for the Danish international to find sufficient game time as he is now the third priority center-forward for Ruben Amorim after Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee. Hojlund has failed to make a significant impression for the Red Devils having scored only three goals in the entire Premier League campaign last season. Other clubs like AC Milan were also reportedly interested in signing the center-forward, however, Antonio Conte's Napoli are now leading the race.
While this could be a key moment as Napoli’s current center-forward Romelu Lukaku has been sidelined after suffering a painful injury. Lukaku is expected to be out for a few months now and Antonio Conte is desperate to complete the move. The transfer window is set to come to an end in the upcoming week, it will be interesting to see if Napoli can seal the deal.
