The United States of America has announced their preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Maruicio Pochettino will be the manager of the side. They will be hoping to impress the fans as they will be playing on their home soil. They have been drawn into Group D along with Paraguay, Australia and Turkey. It does not seem to be the most competitive of groups for the hosts and they could possibly get through the group stage once again. Christian Pulisic will undoubtedly be the player that the USA fans will have their hopes pinned on.
In the 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup, the United States of America made headways into the knockout stages. They were drawn into a fairly competitive group with England, Wales and Iran. They did an excellent job of staying unbeaten as they secured a win and two draws from the three games. But, they had to face a star studded Netherlands side in the Round of 16, and they were one of the in-form sides in the tournament. They lost 3-1 to the Netherlands and unfortunately, they had to draw the curtains on their solid campaign in Qatar.
