Charles Leclerc has been one of the finest, most talented and remarkable drivers for a while in the fastest form of motorsport but then he's also been a tad bit disappointing when it comes to his performances at Baku, home to the famed and widely-talked-about Azerbaijan Grand Prix. So why is that? Despite having multiple poles and thus, very dominant qualifying performances, the famous Monegasque hasn't won a single Grand Prix ever held here. Not one. That's borderline tragic, akin to Ferrari's heartbreaks over the years. But then what have been Leclerc's performances here that deserve to be mentioned with a touch of respect and regard, emotions that don't always belong to Ferrari as far as 2025 performances stand.

Here's a look at Charles Leclerc records at Azerbaijan Grand Prix:

Record for most poles at the venue, thus far belongs to Charles Leclerc

With a brilliant qualifying record and an enviable one at that, Charles Leclerc has bagged from the onset of 2021 until 2024 - four poles on the bounce at Baku. What makes this truly remarkable achievement even more special is the fact that Leclerc achieved this unique feat despite competing against some tremendous forces in motorsport's top flight.

These, needless to say, include (his current Ferrari teammate) Sir Lewis Hamilton, the sport's most successful driver, Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and formidable past names who are icons in their own right- Sebastian Vettel (four-time world champion) and the Iceman of the sport, Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari's last world champion.

Leclerc's first pole at the venue came in 2021, his third season with Ferrari. Interestingly, it was also his ninth pole of his career. Presently, he has 27 poles to his name. But following 2021, Leclerc converted what may have been a flash in the pan outing for some into a streak of infallible consistency where it came to championing the qualifying challenge at Baku.

Even his most recent pole at this venue, last year, was a really flying lap at 1:41:365. This, as seen a few hours ago, was bettered by Verstappen, the pole sitter for the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2025. The Dutchman clocked a fantastic and blitzy 1:41:117

Responsible for most poles for a Constructor at the venue on successive counts

It is thanks to Leclerc's racing prowess at the physically demanding and often times, utterly surprising Azerbaijan Grand Prix that Ferrari have become the only constructor (thus far) to take 4 consecutive poles at this venue. However, they are yet to win a race at the stellar destination whose proximity to Europe has also made it a wonderful pit stop for travellers from the beating heart of the sub-continent.

This time, however, Leclerc begins from P10, having gone into the barriers a few hours ago as seen at Baku, which meant both Ferrari drivers failed to reach Q3, such a downer, with Sir Lewis Hamilton managing a lowly P12.
