Another exciting match in the Indian T20 League awaits us on Tuesday as two teams sitting in the top-half of the table will take on each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. It is Delhi vs Bangalore and both the teams have looked the stronger of the lot in the competition. While Bangalore would take their heavy defeat against Chennai as an aberration, Delhi would take enormous confidence from their Super Over win over Hyderabad. All in all, this would be yet another blockbuster of a clash and at a new venue one could see teams changing their balance as per what the surface has to offer.
Axar Patel made a great comeback to Delhi after recovering from COVID-19 and starred in their win over Hyderabad in the Super Over. However, the big news for Delhi is that R Ashwin would not be available for selection after he pulled out of the competition. This suggests that both Axar and Amit Mishra could feature in the team and an extra Indian option in Ishant Sharma can also be considered.
For Bangalore, Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa have also opted out of the competition but they would believe that they have the resources in the team to not miss their absence. Despite the poor result against Chennai, not too many changes are expected in the RCB side.
Among the wicketkeepers, AB de Villiers and Rishabh Pant are automated selections. However, ABD sometimes gets fewer deliveries to make an impact and so does Pant but given their ability with the bat and current form, it would be difficult to make a fantasy side without them. Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw can be picked from the batters. Glenn Maxwell, too, cannot be ignored given his brilliant run with Bangalore so far. From the all-rounders, Marcus Stoinis is a likely pick despite not being able to do too much so far.
One can also go ahead with the likes of Washington Sundar given that he is promoted up the order on certain occasions. Despite his last over going for 37 runs against Chennai, Harshal Patel should be in the team as he is the purple cap holder and picked three wickets in that match. Avesh Khan has been a consistent performer for Delhi and can’t be ignored too. Meanwhile, Amit Mishra, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Siraj can be considered too but watch out for how the pitch before finalising the XI.
