Delhi Capitals is one of the eight teams that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Co-owned by the GMR Group and the JSW Group, Delhi Capitals was established in 2008 as Delhi Daredevils before embracing a new avatar in December 2018. The Delhi Capitals has a home in the Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium. Delhi Capitals have made the semifinals of the competition on two occasions – in 2008 and 2009, even topping the table in the latter edition. However, the team’s high point arrived in the 2012 season where it made to the play-off stages of the IPL and the semifinal of the Champions League Twenty20.
ABOUT THE FRANCHISE :
Delhi has never won an IPL trophy mainly due to the wrong strategies and decisions by the management staff. Delhi had a excellent squad a few years ago which included the likes of Dawid Warner, Andre Russell, Irfan Pathan, Kevin Pietersen, Mahela Jayawardene, Virender Sehwag, Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Morne Morkel, Ross Taylor and Colin Ingram. The team has had some of the most dangerous players in the shortest format of the game but due to lack of efforts by the management they have not even won a single edition of the IPL. Virender Sehwag is the teams leading run scorer and Amit Mishra is the leading wicket taker .

TEAM SKIPPERS:
In the first edition of the IPL, Delhi was led by Virender Sehwag who continued leading the team for 4 seasons. After that there was a change of captaincy every time which also resulted in the team not being stable and hence not performing well. Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Kartik, James Hopes, Mahela Jayawardene, David Warner, Ross Taylor, Kevin Pietersen, JP Duminy, Zaheer Khan, Karun Nair have all led the team before the captaincy was passed to Shreyas Iyer in 2018, who has done a good job. But, due to injury, Rishabh Pant took the captaincy baton from Iyer and it worked well for Delhi Capitals. So, even after Iyer's return, Pant continued to lead the team.
Performance till now:
DC have never won an IPL trophy till now and have reached the finals only once in the 2020 edition. They have entered the playoffs six times but unfortunately never been able to cross the finishing line. They would look to do it this time. Rishabh Pant holds the key for Delhi Capitals and the fans will hope to that team wins their maiden IPL title this season.

STRATEGY FOR IPL 2022:
DC lacks players who can single-handedly win matches for them. They would be looking to add such players in their team. The likes of Dawid Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Sharukh Khan, Trent Boult will be well suited for DC. They should also bank on the experience of Pat Cummins and look to buy him as well.
