Tamil Thalaivas have dropped their captain Pawan Sehrawat from their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2025 campaign, owing to disciplinary issues. The tournament entered the second leg in Jaipur on September 12. Thalaivas landed in the Pink City on September 11 and Sehrawat was missing from the team. In their first game of the second leg, Thalaivas took on Bengal Warriorz at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and Arjun Deshwal was given the task to lead the team. Tamil outclassed Warriorz by 46-36 figures and won their second match in the competition.
Despite the successful night, Thalaivas fans were eager to know why Sehrawat didn’t feature in the team. Ending the suspense on the veteran all-rounder’s absence, Tamil Thalaivas have issued a statement on Instagram which read, “Pawan Sehrawat has been sent home from the squad for the remainder of the season owing to disciplinary reasons. This decision has been made after due consideration and in alignment with the team’s code of conduct.” With this season, Pawan Sehrawat made a comeback to Thaaliavas after serving Telugu Titans in 203 and 2024 editions of the tournament. In his previous stint with Thalaivas, he played only one match and got ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.
Pawan Sehrawat’s PKL 2025 performance
In PKL 2025, Pawan Sehrawat has played three matches in which he racked up only 22 points. His stature is enormous and these figures do not suit him. The 29-year-old has served teams such as Bengaluru Bulls, Gujarat Giants, and Telugu Titans in PKL and now, eyes will be set on his next move.
In kabaddi, Sehrawat has achieved some scintillating success. As an all-rounder, he is known for his rapid speed, exceptional raiding prowess, and hand touches. In PKL, he is the only player to accumulate 39 raid points in a single contest.
