Suresh Raina, known as Mr. IPL for his heroics in the cash-rich league over the years, dramatically went unsold on Day 1 of IPL 2022 meg auction taking place in Bengaluru. The left-handed batsman has been one of the most prolific batsmen in the league, having won so many games for Chennai Super Kings.
However, after a disappointing campaign for Raina last season, it looks like all the franchises were not interesting in securing his services this time around. As expected, fans were left in shock to see the 35-year-old not getting any bids on the day.
While some thought that his base price of INR 2 crore was a bit too high, others expressed their displeasure against CSK, who bought Dwayne Bravo and Robin Uthappa but did not bid for Raina.

It was indeed clear that age was a big factor for teams during the mega auction as even someone like Steve Smith went unsold, with somone like Hetmyer going for big bucks. However, there is still hope for Raina to get an IPL contract for upcoming season as he is most likely to return to auction once again on Day 2 where some franchise might bid for him because of his experience.
