The President of the UFC, Dana White, gave an update that the chance of the Michael Chandler versus Conor McGregor fight happening is 100% this year. This news comes in the wake of the Irishman not entering the USADA testing pool for a six-month period before becoming eligible to fight inside the octagon.
Since UFC 296, the last pay-per-view of 2023, scheduled to happen on December 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the deadline for Conor McGregor to compete at this event was June 16 as per the USADA, which he ended up missing.
In the meantime, the 34-year-old multi-time UFC champion is participating as a coach in the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). During the show, he almost came to blows with Michael Chandler, his opposite counterpart, a former three-time champion in Bellator.
During his interview with Aaron Bronsteter, the MMA reporter of TSN Sports, Dana White was questioned whether Chandler vs McGregor fight is going to happen on one of the UFC cards this year, to which he said, “I hope so.” When Bronsteter asked about the chances of the two TUF coaches competing inside the octagon in 2023, White replied, “100%.”
