With this innings, he shattered the record of KL Rahul and Pat Cummins, who held the feat jointly with their 14-ball fifties in 2018 and 2022 respectively.
2. Chris Gayle's highest individual score of an unbeaten 175 included 13 fours
Chris Gayle broke into the record books in April 2013 with his unbeaten 175-run innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against Pune Warriors India at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. His knock is still the highest individual score in the league. During his unprecedented innings, the southpaw clobbered 13 fours.
3. Brendon McCullum unbeaten 158 in the maiden IPL game included 13 maximums
Brendon McCullum scintillated the maiden IPL game in 2008 with his unbeaten158 off 73 for KKR against RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. During his extraordinary innings, the New Zealander amassed 78 runs in sixes, with 13 of those big hits. His batting brilliance helped Kolkata register a humongous 140-run win (their biggest triumph by runs) in the league.
4. On March 13, 2010, Yusuf Pathan struck his first IPL hundred for RR
On March 13, 2010, Yusuf Pathan became the first RR player to notch up an IPL century with his 37-ball ton against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Brabourne Stadium. Yusuf’s century is the second-fastest in the history of IPL as Gayle shattered his feat with the 30-ball century against Pune in the sixth edition of the league.
