Defending IPL champions, Gujarat Titans, kickstarted their journey in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on a triumphing note. However, the victory remained short lived as their batter Kane Williamson was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury. The New Zealand captain had sustained an injury on his right knee while saving a boundary during the GT vs CSK opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Earlier there were speculations about him playing further but the franchise has now confirmed that Williamson won’t be part of the season and has returned home.

Here are the three players who can replace the Kiwi cricketer for the remainder of the IPL 2023.

Dasun Shanaka

Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka is one of the top names who can replace injured Williamson for the IPL 2023. He is one of the top T20 players in the world right now. Not only this, Shanaka has also performed well on the Indian pitch, whenever given a chance.

Now that Sai Sudarshan is performing well for the team, they don’t need to worry about No. 3. Instead of this, they can focus on strengthening their lower-middle order with Shanaka. Needless to say, he can also help Hardik Pandya with his captaincy tasks.
