Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most popular franchises in the IPL. However, they have not won the IPL title even once, their fan following is second to none if compared with winning teams like Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. It has happened because they have managed to acquire the services of some of the best cricketers from around the world. Names like Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB De Villiers, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, Daniel Vettori, Shane Watson, Brendon McCullum, Dale Steyn, and Faf du Plessis, among others. Many of them had a great career in the IPL before or after playing for the Bengaluru based franchise, but there have been some cricketers who ended up struggling badly after leaving RCB. Three of those names are listed below:

1. Devdutt Padikkal

A stylish left-hander from Karnataka, Devdutt Padikkal had a great start to his IPL career in the first two seasons with the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the top of the order. Padikkal scored 884 runs in 29 matches at a decent average of 31.57 with one hundred and six fifties for the franchise in 2020 and 2021. After joining Rajasthan Royals for the 2022 IPL season, Padikkal struggled to get any consistency in his batting and ended up scoring 376 in 17 matches at a subpar average of 22.12 with only 1 fifty. DDP’s strike-rate has always hovered around the 120-125 range which doesn’t help his cause, especially when he gets runs at lower averages.
