Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami returned to professional cricket earlier this year after a lengthy injury layoff, and he made a big impact during India’s recent ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory. But, still, in the twilight stage of his career, there is a massive injury cloud hovering over the head of the right-arm fast bowler, which he will be looking to escape while playing for SRH in the IPL 2025 season.

Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood has struggled with a calf injury for quite some time, and because of which, he had to pull out of Australia’s final two Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 before not making himself available for selection for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The right-arm fast bowler is currently working on regaining full fitness, but still, he might be prone to injury in the IPL 2025 while playing for RCB after completing his rehabilitation.

Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav hit the headlines last season of the IPL with his ability to bowl express pace, registering speeds in excess of 150 kmph consistently while playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), but after a handful of matches, he suffered an injury. The right-arm fast bowler made his debut for India late last year, but another bout with injury has meant that he is currently racing against time to be fit for the IPL 2025 season.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah, who is arguably the best fast bowler currently, is undergoing rehabilitation for a back injury sustained in Australia during the fifth and final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, and due to which he missed out on playing for India during their title-winning ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. As per the latest reports, the 31-year-old is expected to miss out on action for the first two weeks of the IPL 2025 season for Mumbai Indians (MI), and a rushed recovery could have catastrophic consequences down the road.

MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni, 43, is the five-time IPL-winning captain, who has managed to extend his professional cricket career well into the 40s, but, at times during the recent seasons of the IPL, he has seemingly struggled with his fitness. The right-handed wicket-keeper batter is set to play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for one more season, which is rumoured to be his last once again, and it could turn out to be the case if he isn’t able to sustain his fitness any further.
