Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have reached the playoffs twice in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in their first three seasons after coming into existence in the year 2022. But, with a disappointing end to the last IPL season, LSG took a big decision of releasing former captain KL Rahul before the mega auction before giving the role to Rishabh Pant while making him the highest paid player in the history of the league.

Aiden Markram
South African T20I captain Aiden Markram is expected to open the batting for LSG in the IPL 2025 season, apart from delivering a few overs with the ball in the middle stages of an innings as well. While the 30-year-old is not quite consistent in T20 cricket in recent times, he can be very destructive in the power play stage against the pacers, setting up a platform for the rest of the LSG batting lineup to follow.
Ayush Badoni
Ayush Badoni, 25, has grown by leaps and bounds as a batter following his arrival to LSG three years ago, making some significant contributions with the bat in the middle order. The right-handed batter has scored four fifties in 42 appearances for the franchise, playing the role of solidifying the middle order and smashing the opposition bowlers in the latter stages of the innings.
David Miller
David Miller, the South African cricketer, has been batting exceptionally well in limited-overs cricket in recent times, and as far as IPL goes, in his three-year stint with Gujarat Titans (GT), he won the title in 2022. After playing some of his best cricket in IPL with Punjab Kings (PBKS) over a decade ago, the 35-year-old turned back the clock with GT, and he will be looking to continue the momentum with LSG.
Nicholas Pooran
West Indies international Nicholas Pooran showcased great consistency among all the batters for LSG last season of the IPL, apart from scoring runs at a very high strike-rate in the 170s. The left-handed batter, who is 29 years of age, strikes fear in the bowling lineups whether he is facing up against a pacer or a spinner, forcing them to change their plans, which works to his advantage with the bat in hand.
Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant was bought by LSG for a whopping INR 27 crore contract ahead of the IPL 2025 season, and since then, he has been one of the biggest headline-makers for the franchise. In the build-up to the 2025 season, the 27-year-old was awarded the captaincy by the LSG management, and they will be hoping for him to have a big season for the franchise, which could propel them to IPL glory.
