On this day in 2024, Team India finally ended their decade-long wait to get their hands on an ICC trophy. The Men in Blue, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma etched history as they defeated South Africa by seven runs to lift their second T20 World Cup title. While the match was an absolute thriller, the celebrations thereafter were a delight to watch.
From runs coming of Virat Kohli’s bat, Jasprit Bumrah shining with the ball, that jaw-dropping catch near the boundary rope, followed by the team celebrations and the two veterans of the game - Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli bidding adieu to the shortest format, every minute was nothing less than an absolute cinema.

However, it’s already been an year of India lifting the T20 World Cup, members of the cricketing fraternity, along with cricketers and franchises took to social media to relive those memories. The then skipper of the side, Rohit Sharma took to Instagram to share the key moments from this win, captioning the post, “On This Day �������� ”
While he isn’t the only one from that squad to share the moments as Hardik Pandya took to Instagram wiritng, “A day I’ll never forget. A day we’ll never forget. For all of us, India ���� ❤️”
Suryakumar Yadav, who starred in the match, giving India a much-needed breakthrough with that game-changing catch, also took to Instagram to relive the moments. “29th June, 2024 ki yaadein ❤️ The team that played well and billions of you standing strong behind us, this one was for you all ������ ” he captioned the post.
