Former South Africa explosive batter AB de Villiers has recently collaborated with Make A Difference (MAD), which is a leading Indian non-profit government organisation (NGO) for underprivileged children, to mentor the needful children.

The 38-year-old de Villiers, who was the captain of South Africa cricket team in all three formats, has signed up to volunteer for MAD in their cause of working with children in need of care and protection in India.

Commenting on the association, AB De Villiers said, “India has been incredibly kind to me over the years, and I am always looking for ways to give something back. I am happy to be associated with MAD and will mentor two young people supported by the team.

“The NGO offers consistent support to children born into extremely difficult circumstances until they break the cycle of poverty. Their work is incredible.”

Talking about the process, Co-Founder and CEO of MAD Jithin Nedumala said, “The uniqueness of our model lies in its being volunteer-driven and we are simply delighted at having a global sporting icon like AB de Villiers supporting us."

Nedumala appreciated the former Royal Challengers Bangalore batter for his support to help the deprived children. He said, “Mr. 360, as he is fondly known in India, and his support for our organisation will further strengthen our resolve to help children in need of care and protection. Thank you, AB.”
