In a big turn of events from the world of football, on Friday, May 30, AC Milan reappointed Massimiliano Allegri as their new manager after sacking Sergio Conceicao earlier in the week. The Italian, who is 57 years of age, has already managed the Serie A club for the better part of four years from June 2010 to January 2014, winning the league and SuperCoppa Italia double in his first season in charge.

Notably, AC Milan had given Sergio Conceicao his marching orders on Thursday, May 29, following just six months in charge of the club, which were far from good for him at San Siro and on their travels. The Rossoneri finished in eight place in the Serie A in the 2024-25 season under his reign, a very disappointing end to their campaign with a loss in the Coppa Italia final to Bologna, which meant that the management took the tough decision to part ways with him and appoint Massimiliano Allegri in his place.

The club extends a warm welcome and best wishes to Massimiliano and his staff: AC Milan

In their official statement about the appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as the new AC Milan manager, the club said, “The club extends a warm welcome and best wishes to Massimiliano and his staff.” One of the biggest tasks during his second coming at AC Milan for Massimiliano Allegri will be to bring back the Scudetto after a long wait, which he has already done in the 2010-11 season, their first at the time since 2004.

Moreover, Massimiliano Allegri has also been at the helm of clubs like Juventus, Aglianese, Sassuolo, Cagliari, Grosseto, and SPAL, during his illustrious managerial career. From 2014 to 2019, he ended up winning the coveted Serie A title five times for Juventus, while losing the UEFA Champions League final twice before leaving them with mutual consent, only to return to the club for the second time from 2021 to 2024, but he couldn’t replicate the success from the past on this occasion.
