The All India Football Federation's (AIFF) newly-elected President Kalyan Chaubey and Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran held a 'constructive' meeting on the development of football in India on Friday with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) chief Gianni Infantino.

Former Mohun Bagan and East Bengal goalkeeper Kalyan Chaubey beat former Indian captain Bhaichung Bhutia 33-1 in the elections held on September 2 and was elected as the president of AIFF.

The Indian Football Team took to its official Twitter handle and posted a picture of the top two AIFF officials with the FIFA chief and wrote, "AIFF President @kalyanchaubey & Secretary General  @Shaji4Football  called upon  @FIFAcom  President Gianni Infantino at the FIFA Office in Doha, today."

The AIFF said in a statement, "They had an encouraging and constructive meeting with the FIFA President on the future development of Indian football. Discussions were held on key aspects of development of Indian football, and areas that require priority focus."

"All the possible high-impact projects and programmes concerning Indian football will be finalised before the FIFA President's visit to India," AIFF added.

After winning the AIFF presidential election, Chaubey became the first former player to be elected as the head of the Indian football's governing body while Shaji Prabhakaran was appointed as the AIFF Secretary-General on September 3.
